We’re your partners in building a people-focused organization.
People-focused organizations know that by centering their attention on employees’ voice and experiences, they bring out their employees’ best work towards the outcomes they seek.

When we talk about organizational change, we sometimes think it means changes to operations, processes, policies, technical adjustments —but the biggest fact is that we as individual people working within organizations need to change, too. It’s easy to get distracted by numbers and outputs — or looking outward at our customers, clients, and members — but the harder work includes looking at the behavior showing up within our own teams and the culture forming within our four walls.

What does it mean to be culture-driven?
Culture-driven organizations are led by leaders who understand that to be great, you have to walk the talk and practice accountability.

Culture forms through repeated behavior patterns, routines and habits. Culture-driven organizations determine what their mission, vision and values are - their North Star. They define and align their decision-making processes to those values. They hire and orient leaders and employees to those values. They recognize and reward people based upon seeing the demonstration of those values in action. They make culture a daily practice, and they reflect what they say they’re about externally, internally.

What’s equity-centered mean?
Equity-centered organizations are oriented toward digging out systemic problems and actively being part of the solution. These organizations focus on elevating the most marginalized voices, standing up for what’s right despite the complexity, and consistently reflecting and asking themselves the hard questions.

”Equity-centered” sets great organizations apart from good ones. Many organizations focus on being fair. They focus on everyone having an equal voice, an equal say. But equity-centered organizations know that not everyone starts at the same place, and that in the very ways organizations have been designed, inequities have often been baked in. Racism, sexism, ableism, and colonization exist, and these organizations are keenly aware of it and their roles in breaking disparities.

We’ve helped a number of organizations across Hawai’i and the U.S. increase their efforts and commitments in these areas. Is this where your organization is headed? Learn more about how we can partner with you!
