Dr. Waiʻaleʻale Arroyo is a mother, educator, cultural practitioner, and executive. Currently, she is the interim Poʻo Kula or Head of School for Kamehameha Schools Kapālama Campus. Previously, she was the Vice President of Hiʻialo, leading KSʻs 30 Preschools and Community education, engagement, and partnerships across the state of Hawaiʻi, impacting about 70,000 annually. Dr. Arroyoʻs background and experience include being an educator and non-profit CEO, Public charter Head of School, and Chief of Staff of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands. Waiʻaleʻale holds an Ed.D. in educational professional practice, an M.Ed. in private school leadership, an MBA, and a BA in education with an emphasis on Hawaiian language and culture. As a Mea Hʻōla, her leadership is grounded in the traditional Hawaiian healing practices of Mauli Ola. She embraces her kuleana to her kūpuna to restore our identity, language, and knowledge systems that were oppressed by colonization.
